Subie grew up on a farm in Hartland, Vermont and her parents now reside in Quechee, Vermont. She attended the University of Vermont for 3 years and was an avid field hockey player & skier. With Olympic dreams in sight, Subie found her way out West to pursue a talent in freestyle mogul competition in 1992. Subie finished her undergraduate degree at the University of Utah with a Bachelor of Science in Human Development. While working with young children, she discovered Maria Montessori and was fascinated by her philosophy. From that moment on she knew that she would eventually open a Montessori school. After completing a two-year Early Childhood Montessori program in California she fulfilled her dream and opened Little Miners in the fall of 2001. Subie is the proud parent of Bryce and Daisy Stone.


Miss Sunnie Elliot

Sunnie was born and raised in Frisco, Colorado. Living in the mountains, she became an avid skier and outdoor adventurer. In 2006, she moved to Park City with her family and soon graduated from Park City High. Sunny has been a babysitter and nanny in the Park City area for over a decade. After having the opportunity to be a maternity substitute at Little Miners, she decided to pursue her love of children and is currently doing her Montessori training to be the head teacher for the Toddler Program. Sunnie lives in Oakley and spends her free time fishing, hiking, snowboarding and doing yoga.

Mrs. Brigitte Elliot

AM Assistant Teacher Toddler Program

Brigitte was born and raised in Brussels, Belgium, where she studied and received her degree in Education.  Following college, Brigitte traveled the world working for ClubMed, where she taught children animation, acting, windsurfing, sailing and skiing.  She is currently a certified children’s ski instructor at Deer Valley. Prior to her move to the Toddler Program, Brigitte was an Assistant Teacher in Little Miners Early Childhood Program in Classroom 2.  Brigitte is also a board member of U-SA Cares for Life, an organization which runs foster homes and educational programs for abandoned children in South Africa.  Brigitte speaks French, English and Spanish.  She has five children, Jeremy, Sunnie, Angie, Sophie and Nigel who all enjoy sports and school. Brigitte lives in Silver Creek with her husband Jim and their dogs, Gus, Nelson and Ricki.


Miss Karen Raemer

AM/PM Head Teacher Classroom 1

Karen grew up in Salt Lake City and graduated from the University of Utah with a degree in Business Management. She has spent 20 years training, teaching, and counseling adults. She finds teaching at Little Miners much more rewarding and loves spending her days with the children. Her hobbies include spending time with her family – especially her two darling grandsons, taking care of her pets, gardening, and knitting.


Mrs. Brittany Feinauer

Brittany has spent most of her life in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia.  She attended Southern Virginia University where she played tennis, met her husband JJ, and graduated with a double-major in Art and Liberal Arts.  During college, she was passionate about travel-study trips and had the opportunity to study art in New York, Washington DC, Italy, and France.  She also volunteered at orphanages in the Dominican Republic.  Brittany was the after-care teacher and a head summer camp counselor at Woods Creek Montessori in Lexington, VA for 2 years before moving to Salt Lake City in 2013.  She loves traveling, playing tennis, rock-climbing, reading, and creating art of all kinds.  She looks forward to teaching at Little Miners and attending Montessori training at Westminster in the summer of 2015.


Miss Bibi Vladimirova

Bibi grew up in Bulgaria and received her Bachelor’s Degree in outdoor sports and recreation with an emphasis on physical education teaching and journalism. She is a professional ski and snowboard instructor as well as a Junior National Bulgarian figure skating champion. She has Montessori training from the Souzzann Zink Montessori Development Center and received her Early Childhood Certificate at the Montessori Education Center of the Rockies. She and her partner, Ty have recently welcomed a son, Edan, to their family!


Mrs. Liza Battaini

Liza spent her childhood in Vermont. She attended Prescott College, in Prescott, Arizona where she received her Bachelors in Cultural Studies.  While in College, she traveled to Kenya and lived with the Masai tribe while studying the educational system and the land rights of Amboseli National Park.  Upon graduation, she traveled back to the east coast and began working as a counselor for at-risk and adjudicated adolescent boys.  While working, she met her husband Charlie.  They moved to Utah in 2009 and Liza began working at Dancing Moose Montessori as an assistant and head teacher.  Liza joined Little Miners in 2011 and went to Montessori Teacher Training at the Florida Institute of Montessori Studies graduating with an AMS Early Childhood credential.


Mrs. Ashley Trainor

Ashley is from Rye, New Hampshire. She graduated from St. Lawrence University in May of 2007 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and a Minor in Education. During college Ashley interned at the Headstart in Canton, New York and discovered her love for working with children. After graduation Ashley followed her passion for skiing to the snowy mountains of Utah. Ashley completed her Montessori Teacher Training at the New England Montessori Teacher Education Center in Boston, Massachusetts and loves teaching the Montessori philosophy to children.   In August of 2014, Ashley and her husband John welcomed their first daughter, Juniper.


Mrs. Erin Ellis

Erin was born and raised in Orwell, Ohio. She graduated from Lake Erie College in May of 2011 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mathematics and Secondary Math Education. Erin is a licensed 6-12 grade Math Teacher in Ohio and Utah. After college, she taught High School Math at a public school in Fairport, Ohio and Environmental Education at Cuyahoga Valley National Park in the summer. After visiting Park City a few times, Erin fell in love with the area and moved to Park City in 2012.  This past year was an exciting one for Erin; she started working at Little Miners in the fall of 2013, got married to her husband, Zach, and underwent Montessori training in Salt Lake City!  She is looking forward to the upcoming year in Classroom 3!


Mrs. Hillary Burrows

Art Teacher

Hillary grew up in Salt Lake City and attended the University of Utah, where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology.  She completed her Montessori training in the San Francisco Bay Area and has been teaching Early Childhood Montessori Education since 2000.  Hillary now enjoys running the Art program at Little Miners.  She and her husband Anthony have 2 young sons, Kelston and Parker.


Mrs.Vanessa Battaini

Office Administrator

Vanessa grew up in Vermont then headed west to attend Prescott College in Prescott, Arizona where she received her BA in Sociological Studies before moving to the Park City area.  Vanessa has worked in a variety of therapeutic and educational settings and joined Little Miners in 2007.  Vanessa enjoys exploring the mountains and deserts with her husband Todd, and sons Mason and Will.

Miss Sophie Elliot

Classroom Aide/Office Administrator

Sophie moved to Park City from Frisco, Colorado twelve years ago. Growing up in small mountain towns, she always had a passion for exploring nature and enjoyed being a competitive athlete.  Her hobbies include skiing, snowboarding, hiking, wake boarding and cooking! Sophie was introduced to Little Miners Montessori during her ten years as a nanny for local families. In college she joined a non profit organization and spent two years traveling to several third world countries where she spent time in many orphanages, “boarding schools” and hospitals.  Sophie joined the LMM family as a maternity substitute teacher in the fall of 2014.


Ms. Alejandra Anderson

Infant Caregiver

Alejandra grew up in Mexico City and moved to Michigan in 1996 where she lived until she relocated to Park City in 2009.  Alejandra has worked in the childcare industry for many years and has two daughters of her own, Angie and Alexandra.  She is also the proud grandmother to 3 beautiful grandchildren.  Alejandra enjoys hiking, Zumba, movies, music, and spending time with her family.  The LMM staff babies are very lucky to have Alejandra while their moms work!
