Subie grew up on a farm in Hartland, Vermont and her parents now reside in Quechee, Vermont. She attended the University of Vermont for 3 years and was an avid field hockey player & skier. With Olympic dreams in sight, Subie found her way out West to pursue a talent in freestyle mogul competition in 1992. Subie finished her undergraduate degree at the University of Utah with a Bachelor of Science in Human Development. While working with young children, she discovered Maria Montessori and was fascinated by her philosophy. From that moment on she knew that she would eventually open a Montessori school. After completing a two-year Early Childhood Montessori program in California she fulfilled her dream and opened Little Miners in the fall of 2001. Subie is the proud parent of Bryce and Daisy Stone.


Mrs.Vanessa Battaini

Office Administrator

Vanessa grew up in Vermont then headed west to attend Prescott College in Prescott, Arizona where she received her BA in Sociological Studies before moving to the Park City area.  Vanessa has worked in a variety of therapeutic and educational settings and joined Little Miners in 2007.  Vanessa enjoys exploring the mountains and deserts with her husband Todd, and sons Mason and Will.


Miss Sunnie Elliot

Sunnie was born and raised in Frisco, Colorado. Living in the mountains, she became an avid skier and outdoor adventurer. In 2006, she moved to Park City with her family and soon graduated from Park City High. Sunnie has been a babysitter and nanny in the Park City area for over a decade. After having the opportunity to be a maternity substitute at Little Miners, she decided to pursue her love of children and has completed her Montessori training to be the head teacher for the Toddler Program. Sunnie lives in Oakley and spends her free time fishing, hiking, snowboarding and doing yoga.


Mrs. Jules Manning

Toddler Program

Jules has spent the majority of her life in Park City, UT, moving to town in 1987 as a child and leaving only to earn a BA in Literature from Chapman University in California. She fell in love with Montessori philosophy after answering an ad in the Park Record for an Early Childhood Assistant position at a local Montessori school, earning her Early Childhood Teaching Credential in 2009. When Jules’ own children, Henry and Alice, were old enough to attend school she found Little Miners Montessori and knew she wanted to be there too! After being hired as an Art Teacher Jules is happy to now be a member of the Toddler Class teaching team. When not at school Jules loves to get outside with her children and her husband Michael; biking, hiking or skiing, depending on the season.


Miss Sophie Elliot

Toddler /Office Administrator

Sophie moved to Park City from Frisco, Colorado twelve years ago. Growing up in small mountain towns, she always had a passion for exploring nature and enjoyed being a competitive athlete.  Her hobbies include skiing, snowboarding, hiking, wake boarding and cooking! Sophie was introduced to Little Miners Montessori during her ten years as a nanny for local families. In college she joined a non profit organization and spent two years traveling to several third world countries where she spent time in many orphanages, “boarding schools” and hospitals.  Sophie joined the LMM family as a maternity substitute teacher in the fall of 2014.


Miss Karen Raemer

Karen grew up in Salt Lake City and graduated from the University of Utah with a degree in Business Management. She has spent 20 years training, teaching, and counseling adults. She finds teaching at Little Miners much more rewarding and loves spending her days with the children. Her hobbies include spending time with her family – especially her two darling grandsons, taking care of her pets, gardening, and knitting.


Mrs. Brittany Feinauer

Brittany grew up in the Shenandoah valley of Virginia.  She attended Southern Virginia University where she played tennis, met her husband JJ, and graduated with a double-major in Art and Liberal Arts.  During college, she had the opportunity to study art in New York, Washington DC, Italy, and France.  She also volunteered at orphanages in the Dominican Republic.  Brittany was the after-care teacher and a head summer camp counselor at Woods Creek Montessori in Lexington, VA for 2 years before moving to Salt Lake City in 2013. She received her early childhood Montessori teaching credential from Westminster college in 2016 and is currently working toward a Master of Arts in Education with a Montessori emphasis from St. Catherine University.


Miss Bibi Vladimirova

Bibi grew up in Bulgaria and received her Bachelor’s Degree in outdoor sports and recreation with an emphasis on physical education teaching and journalism. She is a professional ski and snowboard instructor as well as a Junior National Bulgarian figure skating champion. She has Montessori training from the Souzzann Zink Montessori Development Center and received her AMS Early Childhood Certificate at the Montessori Education Center of the Rockies. She and her partner, Ty live with their son Edan in Park City.


Mrs. Liza Battaini

Liza spent her childhood in Vermont. She attended Prescott College, in Prescott, Arizona where she received her Bachelors in Cultural Studies.  While in College, she traveled to Kenya and lived with the Masai tribe while studying the educational system and the land rights of Amboseli National Park.  Upon graduation, she traveled back to the east coast and began working as a counselor for at-risk and adjudicated adolescent boys. In 2009, Liza began working at Dancing Moose Montessori as an Early Childhood assistant and then head teacher.  Liza joined Little Miners in 2011 and went to Montessori Teacher Training at the Florida Institute of Montessori Studies graduating with an AMS Early Childhood credential.  Liza and her husband Charlie live in Samak with their beautiful daughter Mary and dog Sage.


Mrs. Ashley Trainor

Ashley is from Rye, New Hampshire. She graduated from St. Lawrence University in May of 2007 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and a Minor in Education. During college Ashley interned at the Headstart in Canton, New York and discovered her love for working with children. After graduation Ashley followed her passion for skiing to the snowy mountains of Utah. Ashley completed her Montessori Teacher Training at the New England Montessori Teacher Education Center in Boston, Massachusetts and loves teaching the Montessori philosophy to children.   Ashley and her husband John have two beautiful children, their daughter Juniper and son Quinn.


Mrs. Erin Ellis

Erin was born and raised in Orwell, Ohio. She graduated from Lake Erie College in May of 2011 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mathematics and Secondary Math Education. Erin is a licensed 6-12 grade Math Teacher in Ohio and Utah. After college, she taught High School Math at a public school in Fairport, Ohio and Environmental Education at Cuyahoga Valley National Park in the summer. After visiting Park City a few times, Erin fell in love with the area and moved to Park City in 2012.  In June 2015, Erin graduated with an AMS Early Childhood Certificate from the Westminster Montessori Program in Salt Lake City.  Erin and her husband Zach live in Samak with their dog Betty and enjoy hiking, skiing and cooking.


Mrs. Hillary Burrows

Lower Elementary Teacher

Hillary grew up in Salt Lake City and attended the University of Utah, where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology.  She completed her Montessori training in the San Francisco Bay Area and has been teaching Early Childhood Montessori Education since 2000.  Hillary ran the LMM Art Program for 3 years and now is excited to explore the Lower Elementary classroom by attending the Montessori Institute at Westminster College, summer 2017.  She and her husband Anthony have 2 sons, Kelston and Parker.


Mrs. Camille Allred

Art Teacher

Camille loves art, music, and kids! She grew up in Salt Lake City and graduated from the University of Utah with a bachelors of art degree in elementary education. Camille owned her own preschool for 12 years, taught 3rd grade, as well as operated a Kindermusik/Musikgarden studio for 14 years. From 2015-2016 she taught upper elementary at Mountain West Montessori Academy.  Camille also worked with the Dyslexia Center of Utah. She is the proud mother of five grown children and looks forward to being a grandmother! Camille and her husband Clint live in Park City and enjoy hiking, skiing, cooking, gardening and playing the guitar!
